This is one of the most valuable things you get from the experience of having a 1:1 coach.

Your friends listen but often to be able to bounce and exclaim how what you're going through is the same as what they're going through...

Your parents listen but often just want us to be happy and 'in my day we did things differently, but, you'll figure it out darling you always do....'

Your partner listens but they spring into problem solving, 'because babe, you're bigger than that, don't take any shit, you're a strong independent woman...'

Your online groups listen but it's kind of hard to unwrap an ocean of emotions in a few sentences online...

Your journalling helps but you still don't feel seen...

Your drinking, sex, chocolate, netflix, gym and dog cuddles help but don't really get rid of the problem...

Now if that's all we did we would just call ourselves listeners, but we're not, we're coaches. Listening is one of the most crucial, fundamental and yet most basic skills of coaching. It's like the canvas to this work.

When we are truly seen and heard, magic happens. We can start to unfold our own thoughts, beliefs, feelings and understanding of this world. From here we can begin to carve a new path towards the things, feelings and thoughts you really want to create in your life.

I often find myself focussing on client results and breakthroughs, but my client truly humbled me with this one. At it's core you get seen and heard, not for my benefit but purely for yours.
