Is coaching suitable for LinkedIn?
If it is, what is the cap? Can we or should we talk openly about our struggles, transformations and the way we can help our clients?
Here is my take.
Organisations need to care about their employees.
They know it positively impacts the bottom line.
Happy employees equal more revenue. More revenue equals more profit. Profit keeps shareholders happy and therefore, everyone is happy.
In theory, this is great. In reality, it's hard to achieve.
Enter the new age of ERG's, EDI teams, employee assistance programs and 'work life balance'.
All are implemented whether from c-suite down, or grassroots up, to create better workplaces, and cultures and improve the wellbeing of employees. We won't go into their effectiveness here, however I want to offer, if this is 'socially acceptable' then by extension, so should 'coaching'.
This is why as coaches, it is OUR responsibility to put a stake in the sand and represent what coaching can do for people.
Coaching is VALUABLE.
It transformed your life and the lives of your clients.
The more we treat it like so, the more acceptable it becomes. We cannot wait for validation from others to see it's value. That's not their job. It's ours. Whether that's on LinkedIn or otherwise.
As coaches, it's our responsibility to believe in, demonstrate and communicate the value of this profession.
So if you are feeling called to post on LinkedIn then you need to trust that.
The longer we let the status quo dictate what should do, the longer things take to change.
Challenge the status quo. If you're going to be a life coach, it also means being in a position of leadership. An example of what is possible to your clients, and to the communities we operate in. This is your opportunity to have pride in this work, fly the flag, and be the change you wish to see in the world.
Be the change.
That's why, inside THRIVE I help you get clear on what platforms to actually post on, and to love your reasons. Then to get clear on WHO you are posting for and WHAT you are posting about.
When you clear this up, the rest becomes a matter of taking action.
Sometimes, we are called to do things that scare us, such as posting on LinkedIn. If that's you trust in that curiosity.
In a world that is crying out for more help, more connection and more humanity, we can provide it.
It gets to be your playground and you get to experiment with it.
